What is the become millionaire ai trend?
The become millionaire ai trend is a 12-second TikTok skit where someone asks ChatGPT voice chat how to become a millionaire in 30 days, reads the answer "get a job?" and gets indignant. It is also searched as the ChatGPT millionaire trend and captioned "that one dude who uses ChatGPT for everything". Make yours from one photo.
What the trend is
A person stands outside, often in a parking lot or a schoolyard, and holds the phone flat against their mouth the way people do when they talk to a voice assistant. They ask, in broken English, roughly "Chat, Chat G B, how become a millionaire in 30 days?". Then they lower the phone, read the reply, look lost and say it back as a question. Then the phone goes up again for the complaint.
The remakes swap the person: a dog, a cat in a suit, lookalikes of actors and rappers, a character in a bowl-cut wig. The sound and the beats stay the same, which is why the format is so easy to copy. ChatGPT is a trademark of OpenAI; this site is independent and the phone screen in our videos is blank.
Timeline
| When (2026) | What happened |
|---|---|
| 11 October | Earliest remake we found on TikTok, using the shared 12-second sound. |
| 12 October | A second early remake passes 700 thousand plays. |
| 13 October | A 30-second take with its own voice, a bowl-cut wig and a cream blazer reaches 14.8 million plays, the biggest we found. |
| 14 to 16 October | Remakes with the shared sound reach 1.5 to 3.3 million plays each; a dog version and a green-screen version appear. |
| 15 to 18 October | Google searches for "chatgpt millionaire" climb to their peak on 18 October. |
Play counts are as seen on 20 October 2026. We checked what we could see; we cannot prove nothing earlier exists.
The lines and the 12 seconds
Lines are approximate, taken from the burned-in captions of remakes. The timing comes from the sound itself.
| Seconds | Beat | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 0.0–4.1s | The question | Phone held flat at the mouth like a voice chat: "Chat… Chat G B… how become a millionaire in 30 days?" |
| 4.1–5.8s | Reading the reply | The phone drops to chest height; eyes on the screen, no words. |
| 5.8–8.1s | Get a job? | Reads the answer out loud, slowly, completely lost. |
| 8.1–8.6s | The look | A beat of disbelief, eyes up off the screen. |
| 8.6–12.0s | The complaint | Phone back to the mouth, indignant: what are they even talking about? |
Why it is funny
The setup is a question everyone has wanted a shortcut for. The reply is the least exciting answer possible. The comedy sits in the silence in the middle: nobody speaks for under two seconds while the asker reads, and the audience already knows what the screen says. Then comes the indignation, as if the chatbot had been rude. It also works for anyone, which is why pets and costumes keep the joke fresh.
Three ways remakes are made
- Filmed and lip-synced. Someone films themselves and mouths along to the sound. Timing is the hard part.
- An AI video model plus editing. The clip is generated, then trimmed and given the sound in an editor.
- A green-screen cutout. A person is cut out and placed over a different background, such as a sunset.
Become Millionaire AI is the second route done for you: it uses Seedance 2.0 / 2.5 by ByteDance, picks one of 6 templates, and adds the original sound. Lip movement follows the sound's timing but is not word-perfect lip-sync. If you wonder whether an app already does this, see the filter question; if you want the technical side, read about the prompt.
